We are getting ready to head south friday. It has been a lovely break from grands but I am ready, really ready to see them all. I sometimes wonder if the preparation that a trip requires is ever really worth it all??? I am sure this one will be a fun filled time. Even Ho is getting excited (no clicking of heels you understand but talking about it more)..
The blue bus has been serviced..the dogs will go to their respective kennels on friday, the washing and ironing has mostly been done..all that if left is one more day after today and the packing of the bus...YEAH!

Crazy as always
7-21-08
Received an e-mail from a much beloved cousin the other day..it read.."Are you crazy?"..I had sent her a picture of my new baby, Charlie...YES..I answered her back...and so happy in my crazyness...Charlie has taken over my life..my wonderful sister and her kids took the grands to Fl. to play with them but mainly to give me a summer break...well..things as you can read here..are NEVER quiet around here..and we chose our crazyness for sure (NIN)...
lolol.. Charlie has been really good at sleeping most of the night but he is ready at 6am to be up and out of the bedroom...I am not..have never been..and probably never will be a morning person...so this has been hard for me to adjust to...he is so adorable and really loves his Bear so I am trying to become a more cheerful morning person...
wish me luck!
Gene and Ann did their mowing sessions on saturday...hot and tiring but the draught has decreased the amount of mowing this summer somewhat. Gene and I headed to Brevard for the Cardinal Car Show and Ann to the 4H meeting..sans girls..
Sunday after church, Ann and I and Gene (mostly those two) canned some sweet relish from Cousin Kim and Donnie's farm...cucumbers are abounding out that way!
Heard that Jan and kids are keeping the girls busy and that they are having a wonderful time. Tim and Ra and family are preparing to sell their home... they want to move across the street from Ra's Mom...it is a lovely neighborhood and closer to their school and activities and less driving time...praying that this is accomplished real soon...
Its Monday and Ann has a J camp for her church kids this afternoon...even with the girls gone ..she is so dedicated to the youth...they have some local activities planned..among the activities a visit to our favorite potter...Mr. Tom Case at Pisgah Forest...know they will enjoy that!

Things are Hopping around here!

Happy Belated Birthday Ho....Ann and I took a cake to Wal-Mart early monday morning..we surprised him for sure..it had his picture on it with him riding his bike...he is such a trooper!
Tuesday he took the day off and we traveled to Lawrenceville for Emma's 13th birthday party. It was a fun trip. The party was a swim party. All her 7th grade class was invited and from the looks of it all..they were mostly all there...a fun bunch of young people. We were late getting home but it was well worth the trip to see Miss Em having so much fun.
The girls continue to have loads of fun at Aunt Jan Camp or as it is being referred to now...Kelsey Kamp...they went to the beach and have ate all kinds of grand meals...thanks sista...
Brittain continues to be a good mother cat...one (Yonah) escaped out of the box today...all is well with the kittens.
Then..drum roll..please... Ann called from church and Mafa and her family had brought the puppies that we could pick one from...I know, the sensible thing is to keep only one dog BUT...not being a sensible Bear...we are now the proud owner of a Shitzu puppy named Charlie...who is now barking his little head off in the bathroom....not much chance of a good nights sleep tonight!

Today Gene rode in the Trooper Blanton Memorial Ride..do not have a head count yet..but motorcycles went past us for 30 minutes this morning as they left Black Mountain...sad but so uplifting as we were told that all the money donated from ride donations and shirt sales would go directly to the family...Ann drove us to Black Mountain and then on to Maggie..we were able to be on 40 when the bikers turned into the Maggie exit...wonderful Karma for sure...and then to be able to park and watch them all go by on their way to the Eagles Nest in Maggie...I am so proud of this community...no one should have to give their life to protect the us citizens...The Thin Blue Line.
We took some pictures that we will post to this blog. Talked to Tim as the bikers were going by...he was on his way to Savannah to a conference...please keep our cop safe as well as all peace officers.
Heard from the girls. They are swimming, beaching, and having a wonderful time. Andy and Jan came over to Aunt Jan Camp today...we are counting the days until the Keys.

Sure is Quiet Around Here
7-11-08
Quiet around here...miss those little voices for sure.
They are having loads of fun at "Aunt Jan Camp"... Tori is feeling better..they have been swimming...Bowzer is back home..lizards are a'waiting and Kelsey, Max and Jan are spoiling them...maybe I could get a sound machine that has three little girls laughter on it to keep me company...plus one voice saying: "What's for lunch?"
Heard yesterday about the passing of an old friend of mine...we went to High School together..lo' those many years ago... we were three young girls back then..full of life and hope..45 years ago next year..the prettiest of the bunch..and probably the smartest also..she went on the U of F and taught elementary/middle school in our local county until her retirement a few years ago..she told me several years ago when we had a mini-reunion together at the third friend's home...that she had transferred from an elementary school to another local one as she felt like the new school could give Her the advantage to make a difference in those kids life..I am SURE that she did.. except the advantage belonged to the KIDS...a teacher can do that to a kids life..and I have heard and feel that she was one of those that do...Godspeed, my friend..your pain is gone..your journey home be swift! Thoughts and prayers to Eddie and your daughters.

Family visit and 4th activities!
7-9-08.... It has been several days since we updated this blog. Jan and Max and Kelsey came up for a visit on 7-3 and went back to Florida today with the girls. We were very busy. We went to Brevard for their 4th celebration.went downtown to see the drum circle at Pritchard Park...ate at Jan's favorite Mex. restaurant...watched the fireworks at Lake Julian..and that was all on the 4th...we had a cookout here, went tubing at Deep Creek...shopped the Screen Door and several Ingels.....went to Flat Rock...Gene rode his bike and went to a car show...Jan,Max, Ann and Kelsey went white water rafting at Hot Springs...(tired yet?) I am!
We all had a great time. They took the girls home to Florida with them.. the girls were so excited to be able to swim in Jan's new pool.
Today is Gene and my 42nd anniversary...hard to believe..."too many smiles..too many miles"...Taking It To the Limit for 42 years...amazing!
We went out to Frankie Bones with Ann for supper. Still hard to believe he has put up with this ole Bear so long...
125 Mod!

Worked around house sunday. Had a hot-dog cookout with Ann and girls. We went for ice cream in afternoon.

Tim and family called and also sent a beautiful flower arrangement. Thanks to Gene for the beautiful Biltmore bracelet. Ann and girls showered me with bag of Pomegranate items.... YUM!
Ann and girls went to TapRoot for J-camp field day.. everyone had a wonderful time. Very stormy rainy afternoon. We went out to dinner at Shanes. Those ribs are great!
